  1. Give Me Shelter - The Rolling Stones

    You're on my mind, Melanie.

I also want to tell you I've given you the Liebster Award http://www.janesinfinitewisdom.com/2011/11/i-feel-just-like-sally-field.html

  2. Did I ever tell you Mick Jagger was my first husband?
Well, not really, but wouldn't that be a tale to tell?
    Happy Thanksgiving, sweetie.
The Liebster Award... priceless, and I will pass it on! Thank you, with a big ole lump in my throat, and it isn't turkey gravy.
    You rock.

Ain't Love a Kick in the Head, Dean Martin

  4. I can't figure out how to e-mail you a response to a comment so I'm posting it here (I hope this isn't a faux pas!):

Sisters in all things PIE! Can I adore you just a little more?

I don't know why pie crust is intimidating but I've had more people - some professionally trained chefs - tell me pie crusts scare them. I love baking and I'm with you. If I can eat my craft, all the better!

Personally, I think you and I already do make the world a better place. But a soup/pie place is the epitome of comfort!

  5. I would love your recipe for pecan pie without the corn syrup. Have you posted that in your archives?

Seems like eating a craft, such as pies, would be good for the planet, right? Are we green and don't know it?

Ah, yes, maybe making the world a better place through pie and soup are our superpowers? We need to inform Alienbody.

  6. P.S. I don't think you could faux pas if you tried.
Isn't faux pas a great French term? I feel a list of great foreign language terms coming on...
    Uh-oh, stream-of-consciousness again...
Must focus: pie, pie, pie, soup, soup, soup...

  7. I don't know all of the songs you mention here, Melanie, just some. But if I had to pick my absolute favorite, it would be the Carpenters. I am not sure I've come across any song of hers I did not like. Most are so melancholy and dreamy and romantic. Ahh!

I love when you do these fun posts!

  8. I actually did a little research and was happy to see that the Rolling Stone website gave Karen Carpenter the credit she deserves for being an extraordinary singer. Some people may not appreciate her, but she was one of the greats. As you say, dreamy and romantic. Her heart was in her voice.
