The latest round of new education buzzwords make me ill. Thanks for caring, Masked Mom.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01468655681800817415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3422383139355516259.post-69953906486456806672013-10-02T07:19:29.523-07:002013-10-02T07:19:29.523-07:00I love her spirit! I hate the thought of so many dedicated, creative, hopeful people--both students and educators--being ground down by a system that so often does the opposite of what it should, and fairly easily could, do.Masked Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08197019009052401812noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3422383139355516259.post-14381669160151848552013-08-21T05:36:33.744-07:002013-08-21T05:36:33.744-07:00Hi JAVS,

This position teaching in a town with a military base has taken me on quite an unexpected journey. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Truly has changed my life. I spent a couple of years abroad teaching American military overseas, and it was truly an eye-opener!http://solowomenathomeandabroad.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/00116246897231606697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3422383139355516259.post-12919655505461968022013-08-08T06:15:59.878-07:002013-08-08T06:15:59.878-07:00Hi Virginia-- I have been thinking about you a lot...Hi Virginia-- I have been thinking about you a lot lately, my lady! Such a nutty summer around here and I am sorry you have not heard from me lately. Thank you for the kind words.

I think you would really enjoy taking a class or two, just for you, just because something interests you, and see what happens. Although you could also teach a class, if you wanted to!!! (After homeschooling your children, plus all your other depth of knowledge in many areas, you are definitely a teacher, too.)

We have so much to catch up on-- let me get rid of this stupid migraine and I will be in touch. Love and hugs to you, my friend and writing partner!

M.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01468655681800817415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3422383139355516259.post-64455698044001911652013-08-07T23:47:50.089-07:002013-08-07T23:47:50.089-07:00I have a great respect for teachers, though it too...I have a great respect for teachers, though it took my maturing years to appreciate all that they do. And I think I understand just what Caroline is talking about, in regards to wanting to keep busy, to keep her mind working. That is just how I now feel. When I was young I had many dreams, most, of course, did not come true. Now that I am older, well, I still dream and want, but I know that mostly I will not get to see those dreams come to fruition.

Perhpas, like Caroline, I could take one task at a time and see where that will take me. :)

I am very glad that I stopped in to read your post, it has given me something to think about and something to smile about. I don't much believe in coincidences any more.

Sometimes I remind my "traditional" 18 year old full-time students that a lot of people would give anything to be in their shoes, attending school full time. They may forget what a privilege/opportunity school is-- while they are whining about homework. The darlings.

Thanks for stopping by, my friend!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01468655681800817415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3422383139355516259.post-27413109094605102632013-08-07T19:10:06.024-07:002013-08-07T19:10:06.024-07:00 Your words mean more than you know.
